The FCL Global Video Series is a collection of researcher video portraits from Singapore and Zürich, showcasing the breadth of disciplines, methods, and institutions within the Future Cities Laboratory network. Launched as part of FCL's 15th anniversary celebrations, the series offers researchers a platform to introduce their work and perspectives to a global audience as they tackle key challenges in urban development, technology, and sustainability. Joshua directed the series and produced its motion graphics and editing templates, led full end-to-end video production for all episodes based in Singapore, and co-created the episodes based in Zürich.

background

The FCL Global Video Series was launched as part of the celebrations for FCL’s 15th anniversary, featuring the researchers behind FCL Global’s work as they tackle key challenges in urban development, technology, and sustainability.

The Future Cities Laboratory (FCL) Global has over 150 researchers from diverse disciplinary backgrounds across its hubs of Singapore and Zürich. The series offers researchers a platform to introduce their work and perspectives to a global audience, with each episode a video portrait of the researcher and the module or project they represent.

Episodes from the series have been exhibited internationally, including at the Biennale Architettura 2025 in Venezia (the Venice Biennale of Architecture), and at the “15 Years Singapore-ETH Centre International Research Hub” event and exhibition launch at the ETH Zürich main building.
